Often said that the best view comes after the hardest climb. But I say, sometimes you can get it in just 400+ meters!!
Where are we hiking
Bukit Seladang is a beginner hill in the district of Jerantut, in Pahang, at 444masl. Though it is categorized as beginner hill, with no tricky terrains, its inclining slopes are not to be underestimated. For a regular phased hiker, it may take somewhere between 45 minutes to 60 minutes to reach the highest point of this hill, which opens to a view of Gunung Benum, the second highest mountain in Pahang.
The sunrise view is however seen best from the CP1 at 294 meters.
Trips to this hill brings to a pre-hike stop at the breakfast selling place in Jerantut, where we pack our food to eat on the hill. We will then reach the base of the hill by 5.45am, so that we can make it to the peak (sunrise view point) just in time to view the first light cutting through the horizon. So far on all our trips here, we have been lucky to see a spread of carpet clouds right below our feet, making the sunrise even more magical than it already is.
What’s more?
The district of Jerantut in Pahang is famous for many beautiful hills and even the Taman Negara, which houses the highest mountain in Taman Negara. But it is also home to another nature space known for its folklore and legends – the Gua Kota Gelanggi, a limestone cave complex said to be hundreds of millions of years old. You will get to witness the majestic living minerals in the cave and of course not forgetting the flora & fauna.
Try not to miss this nature wonder!
